Corinne
Roberts
Brought up in the north of England, Corinne spent
much of her early life walking and rambling in the Yorkshire dales,
Scotland and Cumbria, whose rugged landscapes had a lasting effect on
her work. Whilst studying fine art printmaking at Bradford college in
the late 70s she won a travelling scholarship to the gorges du Tarn in
France and this enabled her to develop her interest in rock and land
formations. On leaving college she worked in a variety of community and
voluntary settings, including schools and centres for people with
disabilities. From 1982 to 1997 she worked as a lecturer in art and
design, when she retired to focus on her own creative interests. This
culminated in a move to West Cork, in search of peace, space and a new
stimulating landscape environment.
