Graduating from NCAD in 1982, Grainne then completed a two year apprenticeship at the Geoffrey Healy pottery. Her exhibitions include the Irish Ceramic Awards, Ceramics Ireland and the International Symposium of Ceramic Art V-oglje , Slovenia.
Grainne has won awards at the Irish Ceramic Awards, Ceramics Ireland, DCCOI (RDS National Craft Awards) and the Dublin Airport Authority to design the Allianz B2Arts Awards 2014.
The ‘Bindu’, ‘Accretion’ and ‘Landfish’ series reflect ongoing fascinations with form, colour and texture. These unifying sources of inspiration evolve in different ways in each series. Working in stoneware and porcelain clays, Grainne uses a combination of wheel-thrown elements and hand building to create her forms.
Here at the Mill Cove Galleries we stock several pieces from Grainne at our West Cork & Kenmare Gallery.
