Jane was born in Cork, Ireland in 1951. In her mid-40’s Jane began to full-fill her long held ambition to work in clay; beginning in 1995 at Grennan Mill Craft School, and finishing with an MA from NCAD in 2009.
Jane combines making ceramics with a love of travel taking part in workshops and residencies in over 15 countries and exhibiting in over 20; including Korea, Japan, Australia and India.
She has received awards from the Irish Ceramic Awards, the Crafts Council, Arts Council, Waterford and Kilkenny County Councils, Culture Ireland, Art Links, Ceramics Ireland and Canberra Potters’ Society
Her abstract organic forms combine geological and organic references. Her inspiration comes from rock surfaces, geological formations and weathered decay. It is a celebration rather than an imitation of nature. Her work is in a number of international and private collections.
