Starting as a printmaker in London in 1983, he later won a painting scholarship to the Royal Academy of Art in Copenhagen, delving into figurative symbolism. Returning to the UK in 1986, he moved to Bristol, where his art evolved into more abstract forms inspired by nature's patterns. Environmental themes like arcs, trees, and seeds became prominent, celebrating nature's beauty.
In 1996, he relocated to Co.Clare, drawn by its natural allure, inspiring his art further. A four-year photography project from 2006 focused on the county's surfaces, influencing his painting style. His works, often inspired by nature, blend color, tone, and mark to evoke emotional responses. Sometimes inventing places, his art invites viewers to explore themes of hope, freedom, and peace.
