Eileen studied ceramics in Limerick school of Art and Design and graduated in 1983.

She is fascinated by the amount of detail the clay captures when impressed by texture and how these tactile attributes are revealed when colour is introduced to the clay surface. Eileen displays these techniques by using plants to create meticulous botanical prints.

Eileen`s sculptural pieces are inspired by the landscape where she lives in West Waterford. These simple forms are made with naked clay with colour included to emphasise the varied surface texture.

In 2012 Eileen was offered a ceramic residency in the Limousin area in France and spent a month developing her work and exploring new techniques. In 2013 she won an Award from Mill Cove Gallery and in 2014 she won the Irish Ceramics Awards.
