Jim Turner graduated from Camberwell School of Art with a BA in 1974.
He has worked with clay all his life having been brought up in his father’s ceramic studio. For 30 years he has produced domestic ware, alongside which he has developed many techniques to make his large ceramic sculptures.

His work is based on extruded and altered forms and paper clay constructions. These are finished with dry, volcanic surfaces.
His work is in many collections including OPW and Crafts Council of Ireland.
