Emma lives in Co. Mayo close to open bogland with a magnificent view across to Croagh Patrick.
In 2016 she discovered encaustic paint; pigment mixed with molten beeswax.   Up until then her main medium was watercolour; fluid, transparent, light, watercolour but here was a real challenge, opaque, waxy, super-fast-drying paint which creates the most amazing texture and vibrancy....she was hooked.
Her inspiration comes from everywhere, however it is people that intrigue her, their faces, their expressions, the emotions. She likes to just sit and watch people, to simply celebrate the human.  She creates art that is alive, expressive and tells a story.
