Barra is an award-winning sculptor based in Sligo, working in a range of materials including ceramic, concrete, bronze, steel, and found objects. His work draws on a fascination with mythology, primitive art, anthropology and a keen interest in the wonders of our incredible wildlife

Creating both figurative and abstract works for interior and exterior spaces, his sculptures evoke a sense of the ancient while looking confidently toward the future. Barra’s work is exhibited throughout Ireland and internationally,  featuring in public collections and galleries. Recent public commissions include works for Sligo County Council (2021) and Roscommon County Council (2022).
