John lives and paints in North Cork. He has painted in various media over the years including oils, pastels and pencil. His latest body of work is oils as it allows him more variation in theme and style than pencil or pastels did in the past.
His landscape paintings are inspired by his local countryside, with beautiful views and striking plains, tree-lines, streams, and hills.
John examines the quiet sometimes overlooked corners of our countryside which he finds appealing; this allows him to show something to the viewer previously which they may have disregarded.
